Youth Job Connection

YJC Program

The Youth Job Connection program serves youth who experience barriers to employment by providing supports beyond traditional job search and placement opportunities.

Program Features
  • Participants receive minimum wage for 60-90 hours of employment-related workshops
  • Assistance securing employment from a skilled Job Developer
  • Financial placement supports for participants and hiring incentives for employers
  • Ongoing support provided through coaching and mentoring
Eligibility
  • 15-29 years of age (15-17-year-olds must be legally excused from school)
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Out of School and Out of Work
  • Facing additional challenges in finding or keeping employment

YJC Summer Program

YJCS is an employment preparation program for high school students experiencing barriers to finding and/or keeping employment. Support will be provided in finding summer and/or part-time employment.

Please note that recruitment for this program is typically held in early spring.

  • Students receive minimum wage to attend 20-30 hours of employment-related workshops
  • Assistance securing employment from a skilled Job Developer
  • Financial placement supports for participants and hiring incentives for employers
  • Ongoing support through coaching and mentoring
Eligibility
  • Students (15-18)
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • High school students intending to stay in, or return to high school or access post-secondary education
  • Facing additional challenges in finding or keeping employment
